ICOM Symposium

Visual identity development for ICOM Dubai 2025, the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums and the first edition to be hosted in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. A project deeply rooted in heritage yet forward-looking in its expression, this visual identity was inspired by the Bedouin craft of Sadu weaving and begins with the simplest of forms, the square/pixel. This single unit becomes the meeting point between intangible heritage and the digital age, reminding us that culture is built from small, intentional building blocks that carry meaning across generations. By abstracting Sadu into modular, minimalist forms, the system bridges tradition and modernity, allowing patterns to evolve, shift, and interact, much like the conversations and exchanges that define ICOM.
